Mitsubishi Electric Heavy Duty products are developed closely with many original equipment manufacturers to achieve the highest quality possible.
Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America (MEAA) is introducing a new line of brushless alternators for class 7 & 8 trucks. These all new alternators are designed and built for higher reliability and more rugged durability than the 36SI and the Triple Nickel.
A 160 amp model, the Diamond Power 160, will launch this fall; followed by a 200 amp model, the Diamond Power 200, in 2013. Both models will produce more than 100 amps of output at engine idle RPM.
These two brand new products provide remote sense as a standard feature and are designed to handle the extreme under-hood temperatures of 2013 model year vehicles and beyond. The new alternators are designed to meet and exceed all current and future OEM requirements.
Unlike the competition, the robust thermal design of both the Diamond Power 160 and 200 avoids the need for regulator voltage reduction, or cut in output, when under-hood temperatures reach extremely high temperatures.
The alternators provide the best power-to-weight ratio of any brushless alternator in the industry, with the 160A model weighing in at 21 pounds, thereby reducing front axle weight. The brushless design is considerably more reliable than brush-type alternators, so downtime and emergency maintenance are reduced. Brushless designs also eliminate the cost of changing brushes on a regular basis. Last but not least, these alternators will come with a 3year/350,000 O.E. Manufacturer's Warranty, and the industry's best Aftermarket Warranty; the Diamond Gard three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
